In this webinar, Ashley Etemadi, Chief Learning Officer at Wonda, and Sean Currie, Solutions Engineer at Wonda, presented how New York University Meyers and East Carolina University integrated AI-powered simulations into healthcare and social work programs. They explored how immersive practice environments were used to prepare learners for sensitive geriatric care conversations, scale feedback and assessment, and support the development of communication skills critical to patient-centred care.

The discussion focused on how immersive AI-driven behavioural simulations were used within the award-winning LEAP employability module to strengthen career readiness, self-reflection, and behavioural skill development among graduate learners.

They presented two use cases developed with Wonda: a virtual panel of AI-generated student personas representing diverse perspectives, and an immersive medical escape room designed to enhance clinical reasoning and engagement. Dr. Chris Dede, Senior Research Fellow and former Timothy E. Wirth Professor of Learning Technologies at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, explored key design principles for impactful learning with emerging technologies. Drawing on extensive research, the webinar examined how educators and learning designers can intentionally align pedagogy, technology, and assessment to create meaningful and scalable immersive learning experiences.
